The Electroacoustic Community of Chile (CECh) and Pueblo Nuevo Netlabel are pleased to present this album, whose works correspond to the winners of the third and fourth “Latin American Competition of Electroacoustic Composition Gustavo Becerra Schmidt”, corresponding to the years 2012 and 2013 respectively.
The Third Version (2012), included 64 participanting works. The jury, consisting ofCecilia García Gracia (President), Bryan Holmes, Gerardo Figueroa Rodríguez, Gabriel Brn?i? and Óscar Carmona, made the following resolutions, after appreciating works while preserving the anonymity of its creators:
In the Acousmatic Music category it was decided the First Prize would be shared between two works: “Fragtraz” by José Urgilés (Ecuador) and “Partículas Elementales” by Federico Schumacher(Chile), delivering an honorable mention to“Mass & Energy” by Rafael de Oliveira(Brazil).
In the Mixed Music category the First Prize was declared null.
In the Electronic / Experimental Musiccategory it was decided First Prize would be shared between two works: “Cortina de Ruínas” by Leandra Lambert and Alexandre Mandarino (Brazil) and “Llamado Selknam #1” by Nandy Cabrera (Uruguay). The jury also awarded an honorable mention to“Chowmein Nº 9 ” by Naskho Ten Young Mao (Chile), pseudonym of Marcelo Aliste.
The fourth version (2013), included 90 participanting works from 9 Latin American countries. The jury, constituted by the directive of Cech Cecilia García Gracia (President),Alejandro Albornoz, José Rojas, along withRodrigo Cádiz on behalf of the Sociedad del Derecho de Autor SCD and Rodrigo Sigal(Mexico) as international guest, has determined the following, after appreciating works while preserving absolute anonymity of its creators:
In the Acousmatic Music category the First Prize was for the work “Nalgum place us limits do Terceiro Céu” (8 channels) byFelipe Mendes (Brazil). Honorable mention to“Recover” (4 channels) by César Alarcón(Argentina).
In Mixed Music category the First Prize went to “Une autre hypothèse pour the end of Jaques le Fataliste” (Cello and electronics) by Januibe Tejera (Brazil). Honorable mention: “En el alba” (Soprano, electronics in real time and fixed foundation) by Juan Camilo Vásquez (Colombia).
In the catergory Electronic / Experimental Music the First Prize was declared null.
