Fundamental Form
Mar 11th

Fundamental Form was the first formation that directly grew out of the activities of musicians collective and scene Memento in Eskilstuna. The group was formed in 1999 at the initiative of saxophonist Stefan Wistrand and with the aim of playing free improvised music colored by rock, free jazz and electronica. Fundamental Formâs music is built on a finely chiseling of moods â from the abstract to the concrete, from free rhythms to awkward grooves, which is all collectively improvised. The mixture of acoustic and electronic instruments contributes to the specific sound of the group.

Metamusik . Con7
Mar 10th

Metamusik was formed in 2005, after Johannes Rytzler and Daniel Carlsson had discussed a way in which they could make improvised electronica, which despite its origin still sounded like music and not just like random sound experiments. The conceptual starting point for Metamusik is music as an evolving and extensible form of constant motion. With seven variations of this meta-concept arises a music that is a synthesis of the electronic and living, the expected and the unexpected, the composed and the improvised. Electronics and technology is not an end in itself, but contributes only to a specific sound, the feel of a musical moment, the main objective.
Daniel Carlsson – Electronics, Manipulation, Sampling
Johannes Rytzler – Keyboards, Devices
Cover art & design: Tom Holmlund
Engineering & mastering: Daniel Carlsson

FACET . conscious mental field recordings
Mar 8th

While contemporary improvisation is from time to time marked by a denial of tonality, rhythm or even humour, the international trio FACET take a completely different approach. If questioned about their influences the band cite northern minimalism, no wave music and electronic sound collages.
[âŠ] These boys don’t play a lot of different notes and tones. They keep things to a minimum. [âŠ] Quite intense playing at that actually, held backed, controlled, with each player receiving the space they need. [âŠ] The real beauty lies in the improvising densities they create with their music. Nice one indeed. Frans de Ward, Vital Weekly 705
