Z.O.O. (zed ou ou) ist the moniker of Christian Weißenberger; musician, soundartist and stage designer. He creates subtle melodie that are never fully revealed, but instead stay obscured by abstract layers and layers of noise. His music combines elements of ambient, modern classical and minimal music, as well as field recordings; his compositions are “movies without pictures” that oscillate between harmony and dissonance. The guitar is his central musical element, and in combination with synthesizer, sampler and various objects he is creating sonic worlds, that are far from sterile clichees and rugged inaccessibility. Instead they are situated at the interface of analog and digital worlds: abstract soundwalls of melancholic beauty.
Christian Weißenberger is also working as composer for dance pieces, theater and film.
