Long-duration performance/ installation
Lately I’ve been proposing long-duration performances/ installation for a small – medium room, notably in unconventional sites (ideally with natural reverbs). The performance takes place in an installation, which can operate by itself, and lasts for 3 to 6 hours. It does not have a beginning nor an ending and audience can come and leave as they like. In this performance, I use particularly feedback, an interaction between hydrophones and loud speakers, which is quite delicate to control and is affected by room acoustics. I tune waterbowls, according to the quantity of water, to certain frequencies that generate feedback, the drone that I modulate with water waves. The frequencies of each bowl (up to 7 amplified bowls) interact with the natural overtones. Below is a video of a long-duration performance in an old industrial plant in Mulhouse, France.
