Coincidenza : Sui

Improvising musicians who haven’t before met or played together meet in various combinations to record or give concerts.
The aim of the project is find, through improvisational causality, the essence of music.
“Sui” is neither an album from a band nor a compilation, but rather the second “Coincidenza” project organised by the label “Zufall3177”.

On this record played Musicians from Germany, Swiss, France, Italy and USA.

johannes buff & edorta izarzugaza : [doku25] & dry & dry . live at larraskito club 18-03-09

& DRY & DRY is a project involving Johannes Buff & Edorta Izarzugaza.

Johannes, is a french recording engineer based in Germany. He runs The Mint Sessions, a conceptual live recording series. He plays here new and old 45 rpm’s, harmonium, guitar et percussions, with which he slowly builds aural landscapes somewhere between old fashioned analogue and digital contemporary sound art.

Edorta, basque sound artist living in Bermeo (EH), masters a unique technique; using amplifier’s feedback & a few stompboxes, he can produce a stunning range of very dynamic sounds. He released albums on labels Antifrost (Grèce), Larraskito et Gatza (EH), and played with experimentalists such as Xabier Erkizia, Xedh, AS11, Oier I.A., TVpow or Loty Negarti in basque country and abroad. He is also involved in the activities of contemporary art center ARTELEKU in Donosti (San Sebastian).

On top of his amp play, he brings to & dry & dry his use of field recordings, played back or created live -maybe think of an old wooden craft filled with faded analog sounds and cracked textures sailing a dried grass field…
No conceptual goals are involved here, just a taste for slow building mouvements and palpable textures.

They are currently working on a full length album, and are open to booking inquiries.

For that concert in Larraskito Club, their instrumentation was as follow:
EDORTA: amplifier, contact microphone
JOHANNES: turntable, contact microphone.

Last 10 minutes of the show welcomed Animal Hospital for an improvisation. We are happy to have been sharing 2 evenings with him,

Josef Nadek : Mei Liab isch tot

Josef Nadek is a tyrolean based industrial/experimental project.
“Mei Liab Isch Tot” (engl. ‘my dear one is dead’) contains three recordings dealing with tyrolean mythology, wrapped around the incidence of a child’s death.
not only with its cover, ‘Mei Liab Isch Tot’ paints a mythical picture, and drags the listener into a world of upside-down tradition.
after the title track, which builds a not so romantic atmosphere around the death of a child, the second part (‘s`längnosate Weibele’ – ‘the long nosed woman’) describes the child’s apotheosis guided by the ‘Gstampa’, a mythical female character that cares for unchristened dead children.

the last part (‘Einkehr zua di Zwölften’ – ‘the return to the twelves’) follows this mythical woman collecting sacrificial offerings.

‘Mei Liab Isch Tot’ is a short, but extremely intense album, and a benign salute to tyrolean mythology.

Chris Lynn : On My Way To The Cinema

Chris Lynn is a multifaceted filmmaker and Sound Artist from Maryland, USA. His work has been screened at festivals and galleries in the United States, Europe and Mexico. His short films focus primarily in urban and rural landscapes.
His sound pieces are an assemblage of field recordings, ambient pieces, and soundtracks from his films. His first CD, Audible Landscapes, was released on the Sockets label based in Washington D.C.
