Generic . Exit Sanction Resolve
Jan 20th

Generic is a project by Iris Light label owner Adam Sykes. Using manipulated, processed and deconstructed “FOLEY” Tracks, “Sound FX” (both for use in films and tv programmes) with occassional guitars, bass, and found sound to create music from drone, ambience and noise, with a mechanical edge to it.
Cover by Adam Sykes
This was said about the Generic album ‘Torture’ – Almost an admission that he’s not trying to reinvent the wheel, Generic aka Adam Sykes’ choice of band name is apt, given that there are literally thousands of identikit dark ambient / industrial outfits out there. But within the strange cold world of today’s industrial music where drone, machine sounds, unsettling noises and generally terrifying ambience are de rigueur, it’s less about variety and more about whether the artist manages to capture these moods successfully.

We strongly believe in the creativity of the people, as we know that the Network has given us a unique opportunity to develop and express ourselves. Do not let the social and cultural emancipation be held hostages bythe profit, become an active part and show that we want to be leaders of our future.
With this initiative we are talking about net neutrality, the mere conduit, âs Amendment 138 of the Telecoms Package and the Legalization of P2P without any commercial purpose, around the the Creative 4 Net Neutrality Contest, an international campaign to bring to European Citizens attention on the importance of these issues for the future of the Net.

The fifteenth release on Warm Data has now hit the virtual shelves and rounds up 2009âs prolific release schedule. âWe You Never Knowâ is a six track album of uncompromising guitar and effects improvisations by Chuch.
A relentless mind melting trip that begins with a paranoid and claustrophobic skulk through desolate and confined corridors before marching toward a caustic and apocalyptic nightmare and finally emerging gasping for air into what appears to be daylight?…….â

Zondagmorgen : La fin du monde
Sep 21st

So, about 1 and 3/4 years ago, I finished a super long ambient track for my Zondagmorgen (remember this?!) project, entitled La Fin du Monde. My intentions, at the time, were to release it though IMP. That never happened, and it’s been sitting on my hard drive ever since. I pulled it out, on a whim, this morning and listened to it on the bus today. It’s actually better than I remember, so I thought I would send it your way to see if you would be interested in including it in as an upcoming JNN release.

DâIncise – Les Lendemains Etendus
Jul 18th

There is no name mentioned for DâIncise from Geneva, Switzerland, but its basically one guy who started out in 2002, armed with a sampler. First in dub and electronica, but later on in more abstract music. Now he is part of the Audio Activity Collective, mostly a netlabel, but the release âLes Lendemains Etendusâ has a cover, so maybe its also available as a CDR. He samples acoustic musicians and creates his own pieces of music with that. Here it seems to be mostly a band named Diatribes, a free jazz group. I must say its hard to tell, which is what sound here, but in general he does quite a nice job. Nicely bumpy music, highly abstract, yet also dwelling heavily on rhythm, pitching thing up and down the scale. One problem however is that some of the pieces tend to sound similar. Variation is something that this release lacks a bit, and it would have worked better if DâIncise would have left off a couple of pieces and made a stronger 3?CDR release. Throughout not bad however.
Certainly a guy to approach for a remix, Iâd say. (FdW) Vital Weekly 686
