OKNO festival with Fylkingen participants 24-27 February, Szczecin, Poland
Teatr Kana’s IX International Meeting of Young Theatre
is much more than it sounds!:
47 program points with performances, concerts, films, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, discussions and parties.
Many places around the town are involved, and participation from, except for Poland also Germany, Czech Republic and Sweden.
This year, Teatr Kana collaborates for the first time with Fylkingen in Stockholm, who sends six performances by 11 artists.
Fylkingen is a non-profit artists’ organization who is the introducer or central focus in Sweden of many new, radical and experimental art forms like electroacoustic music, happening, improvised music, performance, text-sound composition and other intermedia forms, modern dance, sound art, experimental theatre, noise, video art, installations, butoh … except for contemporary chamber music that was the foundation of the society when it started already in 1933.
The participants from Fylkingen are:
-Sten Hanson, text-sound artist and voice performer who was one of the early pioneers of this art form. He will perform a medley of works from his long carreer.
-Sons of God, performance duo who through a long list of works always want to inspire strength and courage. http://www.thesonsofgod.com/
-SU-EN, the first non-Japanese butoh artist who created her own company outside Japan. Music in her piece Headless “love on the other side” is by Lee Berwick, London. http://www.suenbutohcompany.net/
-Hanna Hartman, sound artist who works exclusively with untreated recorded sources that she collects from all the corners of the world. This time she performs her first live piece, auf’s glatteis. http://www.hannahartman.de/
-Daniel Rozenhall & Mats Lundell, young performance duo with unique list of very strong and original works involving the body in an extreme way. The performance “I”
-Smullotron, acousto-electric composers’ collective who improvise on amplified objects, recorded sources, lots of virtual analog synthesizers and invented instruments. Consists of Johannes Bergmark, Lise-Lotte Norelius and Sren Runolf. http://www.bergmark.org/smullotron.html
