“Focus” ist der zweite Satz der elektroakustischen Komposition “Elementa” von Jean-Claude Risset, ein Auftragswerk des Französischen Kulturministeriums aus Anlass des fünfzigsten Geburtstags der musique concrète 1998.
Jean-Claude Risset über “Focus”:
Feuer ist ambivalent: warm und erschreckend, knisternd, schnell, lodernd, zerstörend und vernichtend. Versprühte Sounds, ständig in Bewegung. Der Wind entfacht Feuer in Büschen. Das Knistern regt in seinem eigenen Rhythmus resonierende Filter an. Das Feuer wächst und scheint die flammenden Vokalaussprachen zu überfluten. Am Ende rotiert das Feuer in Richtung der Sterne ? himmlische Feuerbälle.
