insect audio sought
Resonance104.4fm is the media partner of the Pestival 2009, which
takes place at the Southbank Centre, London, on 4, 5, and 6 September.
Directed by Bridget Nicholls, Pestival celebrates “the art of being an
insect and insects in art” through numerous scientific and artistic
interventions.
Our radio station’s role is to complement the on-site activities with
an on-air of insect-related audio.
Please let me know if you have any such material: I am chiefly looking
for field recordings of insects for a kind of audio Encycolpedia -
explanatory matter is welcome, as are fuller-formed radio shows if you
have material already prepared.
Initially, please send me an email as an expression of interest – then
I will rapidly sort out the weekend’s schedule. Long- and short-form
are both welcome – from all-night monitoring of insect armies to
ring-tone length chitter-chatter.
