FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE ARTE SONORO Y MULTIMEDIA INTR:MUROS. 1ª EDICION

INTR:MUROS is a Sound Arts and Multimedia Festival at the Carthusian Monastery of Cazalla taking place on 2009 July 3 & 4. Why Cazalla? We have selected the Cartuja de Cazalla as a venue for INTR:MUROS because of its rich historic atmosphere and devotion to designing its own future. Nestled deep inside the most gorgeous area of Sierra Norte in the province of Sevilla, an atmosphere of peace and serenity pervades the monastery and its natural surroundings. Since it was founded in the 15th century, the Cartuja de Cazalla has been and continues to be conducive to meditation, contemplation, and exploring a place of inner peace. Because the monastery is SILENCE, an essential element of the soundscapes we will gaze at and the soundways we will travel during the festival weekend. At the monastery site, the sound arts will bring our minds to a space of auditory attention, of reflection about the earth, and of creative and serene listening. For these and other reasons, what better place than the Monastery of Cazalla for embarking on this acoustic adventure? Concerts will take place in the main church of the monastery. In addition to the concerts, there will be a bar serving beverages and cold food from 1 am to 1 pm. Lodgings: Among the facilities of the monastery are lodgings that have earned the Tourism Office category of *** Rural Lodging (Alojamiento Rural). Tickets: • FULL INTR:MUROS PASS: Includes Friday and Saturday night accommodations at the monastery, camp-style breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, Saturday lunch, a tour of the monastery and surrounding areas, free use of both swimming pools (one of them situated in an 8th century Arabic watermill!), entry passes to all concerts and to the Round Table. All rooms have a private bathroom, and some rooms have a garden or patio. The price for a Full INTR:MUROS Pass ranges from 145€ to 200€ depending on the type of monastery room or suite you choose at the monastery’s Legos Cloister, the Ecuestre House, the Pilgrim’s House, the Gym, or the Ceramics Studio. • INTR:MUROS DAY PASS: Includes an entry pass to all concerts on both days, free use of the swimming pools and a tour of the monastery. The price of a Friday is 20 € and a Saturday 30€.
