Scott Sherk spent a month collecting sounds in and around Reykjavik,
Iceland as part of an SIMS residency. Iceland’s dramatic landscape of
severe, gray extremes effects the sounds that resonate in the
crystal-clear air. The twelve recordings that comprise “Icelandic Air”
attempt to capture the various spaces and sonic environments of Iceland,
from the crunch of volcanic beach pebbles to the windblown fields of sheep
to the cement interior of a cathedral.

Wandering Ear is a net label co-curated by Nathan Larson (Minneapolis MN)
and Mike Hallenbeck (Portland OR), specializing in the release of audio
related to field recording. Featured material ranges from “straight” field
recordings to music, installation audio, video and other media that
somehow integrates such recordings. All recordings are available for free
download. Enjoy!

Enjoy!

Best,
Mike Hallenbeck
