Syntjuntan is an ensemble of female composers, musicians and instrument builders.

We have started syntjuntan to meet women’s curiosity for technology and electronics, to encourage them to build instruments and other means to facilitate their own experimentation. Syntjuntan want to help women have better self-esteem, so they can take the place needed to implement their ideas, develop their music and meet the audience. In the Syntjunta they create their own synth and get over their possible fear of any technology. It should familiarize themselves with the experimental art music by listening to and talking about or perhaps even to perform a new work to an audience.

Ensuite il y a l’idée d’en faire un prolongement sonore, une expérience de radio. Reprendre les sons du film, les découper, les mélanger, les brasser et tenter d’en faire émerger. une autre écoute. Cette nouvelle approche prend la forme d’un journal de bord, celui du tournage du film et aussi celui d’une cité en construction ou peut être en déconstruction. » J.-Y. P. For over 5 years, Dragon’s Eye Recordings has continued to introduce listeners to some of the most innovative and uncompromising emerging and mid-career artists in the field of contemporary electronic music and sound art. Named one of Textura’s ‘Top Ten Favorite Labels of 2009,’ and awarded label profiles by Tokafi and Headphone Commute in 2010, Dragon’s Eye is kicking off 2011 with another free downloadable compilation.

2010′s Flowers compilation was met with great enthusiasm and critique praise and with 2011′s Wood we will try and go above and beyond.

Wood is the traditional gift for a fifth anniversary and Wood is Dragon’s Eye Recordings fifth anniversary compilation. On Wood, Dragon’s Eye presents new and unreleased works by the upcoming 2011 roster of artists. The 2011 roster is made up of almost entirely newcomers to the label along with one veteran. This roster represents the artists that Dragon’s Eye considers to be at the forefront of contemporary electronic music and sound art.

Este nuevo número del fanzine lo acompañamos de nuestra primera compilación sonora. La idea de partida era abarcar algunas de las diferentes prácticas y formas de entender la experimentación con el sonido. Incluimos cosas que van desde las vertientes más relacionadas con el “field recordings” y sus procesados a trabajos más relacionados con la numerología sónica y las matemágicas (generativa, algorítmica, basada en probabilidad, ect..), tambien incluimos improvisación, drone-analógico abrasivo, livecoding y algunas tracks inclasificables…

No teníamos la pretensión de hacer una compilación exhaustiva ni representativa, es decir no cubrimos todas las diferentes ópticas ni están todos los que nos hubieran gustado incluir, teníamos que guardar algunas joyas para próximas compilaciones… En cuanto a la organización temporal de las tracks, más que fijarnos en la importancia o reconocimiento de los autores (contamos con el placer de pode incluir al grande y cercano Francisco López) hemos intentado construir un hilo conductor atendiendo a la materia sonora, asociando las tracks a diferentes bloques e intentando que las transiciones de unos a otros no fueran demasiado abruptos. Agredecer aquí a todos colaboradores de la compilación su apoyo sonoro al fanzine..
