Irrigatis was created for the “Long Night of Arts”, June 2013 in Augsburg, Germany. The piece has been performed twice at the “H2” Museum of Contemporary Art.
Irrigatis consists of a master track, a field-recording of a walk in the rain alongside the Lago di Garda, a beautiful lake in Italy. Eric Z. Eriksson (Salad bowls, Udu drum), Gerhard Zander (Electronics) and
Markus Mehr (Resampling, Electronics) played along the master track, basically improvising and responding to the field recording as well as the other musicians. Electronics, percussion and live sampling created a homogenic atmosphere. Although the basic file has been the same, two complete different pieces came up.
