ITHACA TRIO – HELLO, LEEDS.

Whilst famous for it’s mines, picket lines and football hooliganism, Leeds also does pretty well at incubating the most wonderful electronic and experimental music. This mix is a celebration of some of the very best musicians I have had the pleasure of meeting in and around the great grey city. Without this motley crew of tape-loopers and pedal-pushers, its fair to say Ithaca Trio might not be the same ambiguous presence you all know and love today!
Oh okay, fair enough Seasons (Pre-Din) might be based in Manchester now, but he served his time in Leeds… so we’ll pardon him for now. Also, how many others get their Fluid Reviewers describing a realise as ‘like witnessing torture or war’, eh? When it hits the fan, I want Seasons on my crew!
I’ve bookended these selections with a some soundscape work I compiled over the last few months, so sit back and let the sultry tones of the National Rail announcer wash over you as we trudge through the smog, chip batter and cigarette ash that is Leeds…
