Call for fixed-media sound works (Tilde New Music Festival 2015)

tilde

As part of the Tilde New Music Festival 2015, we would like to invite sound artists and composers to submit fixed-media works for consideration to be exhibited in the restrooms at Testing Grounds using small, surface-exciting speakers, throughout the 2015 festival. The works will be placed on a looping playlist throughout the day, within the install space.

The sound system, because of its unusual nature, will not be loud, nor particularly high fidelity, however it will utterly permeate the space. There are three restrictions for the submission.

All frequencies below 150hz must be filtered out (sorry, it’s for the speakers’ sakes)
A maximum duration of 30 minutes
A limit of one work per artist
Interested artists need to send a dropbox/soundcloud/etc. link to an mp3 file of the work (do not send as attachment) to info@tilde.net.au, along with an artist bio (including name, age, country, no more than 500 words) and a short program note about the work (max 120 words). These should be in the body of the email.

Selected works/artists will be contacted by email to request a CD quality file (44.1kHz/16bit) in either wav or aif.

Unfortunately there are no fees for selected works, but there are also no fees to enter. We will endeavour to program as much as we can that meets our festival aesthetic (experimental/avant-garde/new music, sound art, computer music).

Email info@tilde.net.au with any questions.
