” In 2009 the ‘Belju Soundbrige’ was taking place on the French-Swiss border. The event, curated by Gilles Aubry and StĂ©phane Montavon, invited sound artists for short residencies in the Territoire de Belfort in France and the Canton of Jura accross the border in Switzerland, to explore, record and produce site-specific works.Â
Four years later, this edition puts the finishing touch to the project by gathering a selection of sound works composed at the time by Dinah Bird & Jean-Philippe Renoult, Gilles Aubry, Éric Cordier, Helena Gough, pali meursault, Stéphane Montavon, Michael Northam, Duncan Whitley and Carl Y.
For the first time, Universinternational presents a web-only project. But as we didn’t want to just put up a net-release that would be another list of files, we tried to think about what a digital edition should and could be, and we have created a veritable listening environment, a singular space dedicated to that collective project, in which to naviguate.Â
Enjoy listening and have a good trip on the border! “
