stefan paulus, becoming-dissolve

welcome to our first regular program of 2013! a long, long list of sounds this week, as we reintroduce our aporee soundmaps segment. we experimented with this once or twice last year, but quickly got absorbed in out travels and our new occasional framework:ephemera format. our plan is to include in each regular edition a selection of the past two week’s new uploads to the radio aporee soundmaps. many are from names familiar to framework radio playlists, but many are also new to us. we see this as a good way to make some new connections, introduce some new members of our community to framework listeners, and of course to hear some new sounds! if you are not yet familiar with the aporee soundmaps (and i can’t believe that you wouldn’t be, especially if you’re a regular to these shows, since i go on about it quite a lot) get yourself over to http://aporee.org/maps, listen, and contribute!

we also heard many sounds that have been waiting quite awhile on the studio desk: roland etzin’s collection of sounds from his transmongolian journey in 2012, mecha/orga’s minimal (for him) collection of sounds from a small greek village,tattered kaylor’s portraits of found resonances in industrial spaces, and an online release from stefan paulus, whose psychogeographical edition of framework:afield we aired just about a year ago.

and speaking of which: as it is a new year, it’s time for us to start filling our framework:afield calendar! we need new editions several times a month, so now’s a great time, if you have an idea for a full hour of field recording-themed radio, so send us a proposal! we’ll also be continuing our journeys and continuing our framework:ephemera series, so if you’re in one of the places we’re going, let us know!

again, we are always looking for new material, whether raw field recordings, field recording based composition, or introduction submissions. we are also now accepting proposals for full editions of our guest curated framework:afield series. send proposals or material, released or not, on any format, to the address at the bottom of this mail. if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
