This release from Mystified feels like the audio equivalent of a collection of grainy photographs of a dirty, abandoned factory.
Thomas Park’s massive body of work is characterized by a unique sensibility, detectable when exploring any of various sound sources he uses. For this release he says “Instability was created during a period when I was using lots of phonographic material, including shortwave radio sounds, to create music. Some pieces are simply phonographic collages, while others emulate genres like techno, or were created fractally using a generative mixing tool.”
