Anne Pehkonen: Snowball -an open collective performance
Place: in front of the central railway station in Helsinki
Anne Pehkonen invites you to participate in the collective performance enacted in front of the central railway station in Helsinki. Come and join us there!
Snowball – Open Performance is an international project by Anne Pehkonen (20089–2018) in which she investigates the thoughts of ordinary people on how to mitigate climate change in everyday life. Taking the project to the streets, the artist invites passers-by in different countries to make with her a snowball by crocheting thread made from used white plastic shopping bags. While the snowball is being made, the artist talks with the people about their ideas, feelings and opportunities for mitigating climate change through everyday life choices. The performances are photographed and videoed. Ultimately the documentations will build up into an extensive multicultural story.
