BLINDSIGHT is the debut album from electroacoustic improvisors Jamie Drouin, Lance Austin Olsen, and Mathieu Ruhlmann, working under the acronym D.O.R.
BLINDSIGHT documents the first meeting between the three artists at Drouin’s home, revealing both the natural synergy between their individual palettes, as well as the intuitive adeptness of these established artists. BLINDSIGHT refers to the phenomenon where a person with perceptual blindness is able to detect certain movements or stimuli, a definition not dissimilar from the situation of making the album, where the three artists sat down for the first time together, with no rehearsal or preparation, and recorded these compositions straight to disk.
